Emergency Contraceptive Pill
Welcome to our Emergency Contraception Clinic, where we understand that unexpected situations can arise, and we're here to support you when you need it most. Our clinic offers discreet and compassionate care to individuals seeking emergency contraception. This service is available for all women of childbearing age.
At our clinic, we offer two effective options for emergency contraception. Levonorgestrel, which is effective up to 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex, and Ulipristal, which can be taken up to 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex.
Further Advice
Following a consultation with our Pharmacist, we'll provide you with the most appropriate medication for your needs. Your well-being and peace of mind are our priority.
If your unprotected sex occurred more than 120 hours (5 days) ago, hormonal contraception cannot be provided. However, the NHS offers the option of an Intrauterine Device (IUD), commonly known as the "coil," which is the most effective form of emergency contraception in all cases.
The IUD can be fitted up to 5 days (120 hours) after unprotected sex or within 5 days of your expected ovulation date, where this can be accurately calculated. Please contact your GP surgery or local sexual health clinic.
If you are not sure if you are eligible for this service, call our pharmacy line and we will be able to give you more advice.
