What is Flu?
Seasonal Influenza is a serious condition that recurs annually between the winter months of September and March. It is characterised by its rapid onset and high level of contagiousness.
Unlike colds, which typically develop gradually with symptoms like nasal congestion and a sore throat, the flu hits quickly and with greater severity.
Symptoms
The symptoms of flu commonly include fever, chills, headache, muscle and joint pain, and severe fatigue. While most healthy individuals can expect to recover within a week, the flu can pose significant risks to those who have underlying health conditions which can lead to hospitalisation or even death for some vulnerable populations.
