Return of unwanted medication
Sometimes you can have a build-up of medicines, or a medication can be stopped leading to a small amount of unwanted medication, it is vital to ensure that medications are destroyed in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
You can bring your unwanted medication back to Rainbow Pharmacy to be destroyed.
How to recycle medicines
- Unopened, unused and out-of-date medicines should be returned to your nearest pharmacy or a pharmacy of your choice
- The cardboard box that houses the blister packs can be recycled, as can any paper inserts
- Inhalers should not be put in the waste bin as they contain gases that are harmful to the environment. Instead, bring it back to us to ensure they are properly destroyed.
- Do not flush medicines down the toilet
